With stories spreading of many college students struggling with astronomical student loan balances, we are beginning to see more articles on the possibility of college loan reform. Recently the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Commission on Consumer Bankruptcy released a report which included recommendations on improving the consumer bankruptcy system by making some student loans dischargeable in a bankruptcy case. As the 2020 presidential election nears, candidates also appear to be talking about college debt more than candidates in previous elections.
